Gum Base Co. is a fully owned subsidiary of the Perfetti Van Melle group. With over 40 years experience it is one of the world’s leading producers of gum base and compressed powder gum for use in the confectionery, complementary medicine and pharmaceutical industries, exporting approximately 70% of its production to over 90 countries throughout the world.

Gum Base Co. has a dedicated research and development centre that can undertake formulation development to optimise product flavour and release profiles for specific customer projects. In addition, Gum Base Co. can assist with process scale up and commercialisation, operator training and manufacturing trouble shooting.

For the complementary medicine and pharmaceutical industries, Gum Base Co. has developed Compressed Powder Gum (CPG), a new generation of chewing gum base that can deliver active ingredients with tailored release profiles.

Gum Base Co. products are manufactured in Italy under the highest quality standards. The facility has a certified quality system, and operates under a hazard analysis critical control point (HACCP) system, combined with food good manufacturing practice (GMP) and global standard for food safety certification.
